Sunnybrae Vineyards & Winery

Sunnybrae Vineyards & Winery sits on a south-facing slope of volcanic ash soil below Bastion Mountain, with sweeping views over Shuswap Lake near Tappen. Originally a hay farm, the property was planted to vines in 2006 by Barry and Nancy Turner, who opened the craftsman-style winery and tasting room in 2011. In the summer of 2021, Tanja and Ian Hamilton, together with their daughters Tasia and Alena, took ownership and have carried on the tradition of small-lot, cool-climate winemaking.

The vineyard is planted to German-origin whites well suited to the short northern season, including Siegerrebe, Ortega, and Kerner, alongside Pinot Noir and the French-American red Marechal Foch. The lakeside setting and long summer days give the wines a refreshing, vibrant character.
