Marionette Winery

Marionette Winery sits on the North Broadview Bench just minutes from downtown Salmon Arm, where a warm aspect and complex soils create a mesoclimate well suited to cool-climate grapes. It was founded by Amanda Eastwood and Jamie Smith, both trained in viticulture and oenology, who made wine in France, Portugal, and England before returning to Jamie's hometown to build the winery with his family. The name honours a family of travelling artists who once lived on the property and performed shows with handmade marionettes from painted, horse-drawn caravans.

The estate is planted to cool-climate varieties including Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Zweigelt, and Siegerrebe, farmed with a low-input, sustainable approach amid old cherry and plum trees. Warm summers without the need for irrigation give the wines bright, expressive character.

The estate is located along 2540 40th Street Northeast, in the Salmon Arm area of the Shuswap.
