Hainle Vineyards Estate Winery was BC’s 8th estate winery, founded in 1972 and the birthplace of North American Icewine in 1978. The Hainle legacy is built on Walter Hainle’s winemaking expertise and his stroke of genius that resulted in the first production of Icewine in North America. In an attempt to salvage grapes from an early frost that threatened to obliterate an entire year of production, Walter Hainle produced the first 40 litres of Icewine.
Peachland's steep terrain and southern exposure create a warm microclimate tempered by cool lake breezes. The region's orchard heritage lives on in its small, family-run wineries, where the intimacy of the setting is matched by the care in every bottle.
The estate is located along 5355 Trepanier Bench Rd, with hours Thursday-Saturday 10am-5pm.
Part of the Peachland wine region. Hours and tasting fees change with the season, so confirm with the winery before you visit.
